A day in the role
Find the freight without PII fishing
Gate lookup uses a reference, not a fishing expedition through driver personal data. Inbound seal inspection writes the log.
Call the dock
Check-in moves in_queue → called_to_dock → at_dock → loading or unloading → sealed → checked_out. Kiosk can do the first handshake.
Keep the yard honest
Slots, hold zone, trailer roster, photo tasks, exceptions with a seven-day trend, and a signed handover at shift change.
Don’t leak an unpaid lumper
Authorization (carrier) and collection (facility) are separate. Unpaid tickets block gate-out unless a manager or supervisor records an override.
What this workspace actually does
- PII-safe gate search, inbound seal inspection, outbound seal + e-sign, paged event log.
- Driver kiosk: load QR, BOL barcode, or keypad plus last four of the phone.
- Yard grid, dock queue, hold zone, trailer roster, spotter tasks, signed shift handover.
- Dwell from gate-in; detention after facility free time; lumper ledger with gate-out guard.
- Staff hierarchy manager > supervisor > gate_guard > dock_operator > yard_driver; SMS to walk-ins.
